Happy Birthday to Craig!

"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." ~ Thomas Campbell

I wanted to give a shout out to my Dad on his birthday. Lets see he is 56 today? Is that all? Wow life really is short. However, I have to say in the 52 years he survived he really did it well. He definitely lived life to its fullest.

I was lucky enough to receive a visit from the old man Sunday night. It had been a very long and stressful week. They say that you will get visits from the other side only when you truly need them. This was one of those times. I came out of a house...not sure who's house...and there he was sitting on the porch in a chair. He had a lot of facial hair....must be on an adventure where he can't shave. I of course ran over and hugged him and told him how much I miss him and how glad I was to see him.

Dad I hope wherever you are you are really enjoying the resort! Take a load off for your birthday. Spend it with good friends and family. And as long as you are doing some traveling stop by and see your daughter Angela. She is requesting a visit ;)

I would love a visit but since I don't believe in an after life I probably won't get one, I would settle for a nice dream though.

I will just have wait until reality starts to fade as I age... I hope dad is riding one of those unruly little buffalo's!!!

Thanks for sharing a special moment. Dan and I were just talking about him a few days ago. We figure the first thing he'll say to us when we see him again is,"where are my tools". We had a habit of borrowing and not returning very promptly.
Happy Birthday Craig!

I don't like the mental image I just got of dad riding an unruly little buffalo.

And, just by way of correction, the old man would be 57 today.

I certainly glad that you were able to spend a few minute taking comfort from your dad again. I hear stories like that, but have never had a visit from the other side. That is a neat picture too. Of course being that I am a water sign drying up in the desert, I love anything beach related

Ang, keep your mind open. My dad spent many years of his adult life questioning the after life. I believe that this is why he gets daily visits from that side now. You may spend your old age chasing soldiers and little buffalo out of the house. I would hate to see one take up residence on top of that pretty new cabinet in your living room!

Jen, I think he could go 8 seconds on one of those little guys. It's a real rush. Don't deprive an old man a little fun. What's the worst that could happen? It's not like he can break a leg!

My mind is always open but my scientific nature leads me to believe that hallucinations are in fact just hallucinations whether your neurons are damaged or you are short circuiting them on drugs, it is what it is. I like evidence way to much to disregard it. Being in med school and learning about anatomy and the nervous system has certainly not helped in changing my mind of that either! As a proud atheist I just don't give much attention to the supernatural these days.

Everyone has to believe in something. We all have our own way of answering how and why and what next. For me I personally need to believe that we will all be together someday, because I can't bare the thought of the alternative. I believe people pick a religion based on what they can bare to think is right. I like to think I have my own religion ha ha! I just make stuff up that sounds good and go with it. It's my world people...your just living in it! LOL. But really I can distinguish meaningless dreams and dreams that are something more. This was something more.

Oh and thanks for the correction Jen I thought he would be older I was doing wrong math. Born in 1951...duh.

Didn't intend to offend, I just HATE when people think I should be a believer. I am not a believer in any type of religion, GOD, Jesus, Buddha or any other figure holy or otherwise, and will never (hope I don't ever have to eat my words) believe there is any type of life after death. If you want to talk about the transfer of energy that is another story, laws of physics I can appreciate! Just get tired of feeling like I have to defend my way of life, which like you, feel is the BEST way of life!!!

I think Denise has a good point. We do pick the beliefs that make the most sense to us, and over a life time those beliefs may change a dozen. I was just trying to be funny about the little buffalo sleeping on your cabinet, and I'm sorry if I got you feeling defensive. That was not my intention, but I can see how you might feel outnumbered.

We are a passionate bunch and we all believe strongly in what we believe. I think we also respect each other's beliefs enough that we can just agree to disagree sometimes. This is one of those things that we will never really know until we get there. So let's enjoy the ride!

Well I certainly was not offended. I was trying to help other people understand that what you, Ang, believe in is what makes sense to you and that's ok. Cause we all are different. And your whole life is consumed with science so perhaps you know more than us! I choose to live in La la land lol.
